I'm intrigued by this thread of discussion. I know that the NYU Museum
Studies Department offers a Professional Certificate in Museum Studies as a
degree partnered with another MA program. They do not however offer a
terminal MA in Museum Studies, though I believe that topic may be under
discussion.

I'm curious how much a Professional Certificate in Museum Studies is worth.
Is it the equivalent of a MA in the eyes of museum professionals? Given the
choice between hiring a person with a professional certificate vs. a
Masters, who would you give preference to? Why?
