Thanks a bunch, and to all of you who initially replied to my query about
First Lady Barbie dressed dolls some months back; the winner truly was the
Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center as their historian Tom Culbertson
came to the rescue and completed my search. It's been strange spending so
much time with the press, but I guess I'm getting used to it.
Ah! Yup, Diane Keaton did come out and asked to use the Library as a
backdrop for their shoot. For those museums that have had to deal with
movie shoots, this one was painless from the curatorial side; the public
relations people kept asking us not to disturb "Ms. Keaton" while filming
went on (like I don't have any other job than to gawk at the actors,
harrummph). It never crosses the marketing mind that this is our own museum
space and we have to live with any consequences a film crew might impose
(like blowing out transformers or knocking into something). But I am being
too hard I guess; in the end, it was certainly painless, and I haven't seen
the movie yet.
