Colleagues,
With all the bad press that museums get, I thought that you might be
interested to know that last Saturday night NBC Weekend Nightly News did a
focus story on the Museum Loan Network--that was all about positive things
that museums do. It traced objects coming from Cleveland Museum of Art and
Peabody Essex Museum going to the Carlos Museum in Atlanta. It showed
backstage, conservation, storage, appropriate care in packing and objects on
view in galleries with children. I have just been advised that the story is
going to be re-aired on MSNBC Magazine with Stone Phillips this weekend.
So, maybe some of you can catch it on that. According to the MSNBC site the
show airs on Saturday and Sunday seemingly every two hours. Check your
local listings, I guess. The Weekend Magazine shows highlights from week's
programs, but I am not sure if it is the same show every time or what.
