Chris...forget all the snake oil treatments described thus far...

The answer to this question is to use VM&P (Varnish Makers and Painters)
Naptha. It is readily available at any hardware store and is the only
solvent that will not harm the plexi in any way. Not now or ever. This is a
slightly more refined version of Zippo lighter fluid and Coleman Fuel
(White Gas). It is flammable so no smoking!

I have used it to clean plexi, to clean duct tape residue off of cars, to
clean marker ink off of used CD's, and to clean oil paint off of carpets.

Trust me this is what you want.
Sorry to all who have posted replies already, this is *the* way to go.
