Hello everyone,

On behalf of the entire team, I would like to warmly invite you to join us
this evening live from NYC via Zoom (7pm ET / 4pm PT) for our weekly free
and interactive tour.

#120 Considering Art: Considering Reflections - featuring urgent work by
Portia Zvavahera.

In Portia Zvavahera's (she/her)
<https://www.davidzwirner.com/artists/portia-zvavahera> art, dreams,
memories and personal reflections take shape in large-scale drawings and
oil-based paintings in which the artist conjures a world of mysterious
narratives and fantastical figures.

Growing up, the artist would often share dreams with her grandmother as a
way of processing her thoughts and fears. Continuing this intimate dialogue
through her artistic practice, Zvavahera keeps a sketchbook beneath her
pillow, and upon waking, making impulsive sketches that capture the
fleeting nature of dreams. Often biographical in nature, her works reflect
upon the intimacies of personal relationships and friendships, as well as
feminine experiences of giving birth and nursing children, speaking to the
underacknowledged importance of women's labour globally.

In this tour, we embark on some close looking.

Together we ask: What do you see?
