Greetings,It sounds like one of those horror stories shared by new employees, taking over for that person who retired after 30/40 years and finding all the questionable things. Like signs and labels taped directly to artifacts. Or historical photographs pinned to wall displays. Or finding that the office furniture pieces are artifacts. Not all museums out west. 😊
I would agree with Renee. Thanks for checking.

No, no, no. As a textile conservator I would not use any adhesives of any kind on or near any textile. Textile conservators sometimes use adhesives during treatment but that is only in worst case scenarios done buy an extremely knowledgeable professional.

Hey all,
Has anyone heard of hanging a rug using Velcro? A former colleague was visiting at some museums out west, who's staff said that they use Velcro, no-sew, to hang their rugs. In doing some digging online, I couldn't find any example of a museum using non-sew, adhesive Velcro - has anyone heard of this?
Any help you all have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
