The database manager position is a full-time temporary position.
One of the Agency goals is to put the museum collection records and photographs online via the Re:Discovery web portal, essentially providing access to the museum collections worldwide. In order to accomplish
this goal, we need a person dedicated to verifying facts, ensuring accuracy, and standardizing the museum collection database to make it web ready.
Duties and Tasks

Update database catalog records to make entries consistent and informative with digital color photographs.
·
Enter information from data sheets and condition reports.
·
Provide records and reference access to SHSND staff, visiting researchers, and museum professionals.
·
Work with collections staff to develop cataloguing format guidelines and a dictionary of standard terms.
·
Provide the web-ready collections for public viewing on the website.
·
Assist with the updating of the museum collection Collections Plan in order to reflect the collection’s future needs, requiring research and a proactive collecting initiative.
·
Analyze existing collections and propose accessioning or disposition of Collection items
·
Assist with prepping PastPerfect data for transition to Re:Discovery.
