Greetings, I’m an MA Candidate in Museum Studies at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) and completing an internship at the Indiana Medical History Museum (IMHM). Would you be willing to take a short, 5 question survey?

Recognizing the long-standing historical practice of preserving natural objects with pesticides and other chemicals (such as, but not limited to, mercury and arsenic), I’m researching how museums are recognizing, handling and potentially mitigating any of these toxins that may remain within their collections.  This information will help to inform the Indiana Medical History Museum as they work to address similar issues in their own historic collections.

Are you willing to take a short, 5 question survey? I am happy to collate and share blinded results of this survey with all that respond. Feel free to forward this survey to others that you think may be interested or have input.

If you have developed materials (policies, procedures, educational, or other related materials) that help address any of these questions and are willing to share those resources, please email them to me at [log in to unmask]

Thank you in advance for your help with this! This information and resources will be invaluable for the IMHM as they approach these issues themselves.
