**  Monty Python snub 'pretentious' Victoria and Albert Museum

The Python comedians wanted to call the exhibition Monty Python: The Same
Old Bollocks, but V&A curators preferred Monty Python: from Dalí to Dead
Parrots, which the group hated.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi, the first museum to carry the name outside France, has
announced that it will display works by the Dutch masters Rembrandt and
Vermeer this month.

 

**  Archive shows medieval nun faked her own death to escape convent

A team of medieval historians working in the archives at the University of
York has found evidence that a nun in the 14th century faked her own death
and crafted a dummy “in the likeness of her body” in order to escape her
convent and pursue – in the words of the archbishop of the time – “the way
of carnal lust”.

 

**  New dog museum unleashed in New York City

The collection boasts portraits of royal and presidential pets, artifacts
that trace canine history as far back as an estimated 30 million-year-old
fossil, and devices that “match” visitors’ faces with dog breeds and let
people try their hand at basic dog training with a virtual puppy.

**  Cockroach Exhibition at the Dubrovnik Natural History Museum

Yes, admittedly, that sounds a bit odd, why would anyone go see a cockroach
exhibition in the Natural History Museum anywhere, but the exhibition
recently opened in Dubrovnik has proven to be a hit.

 

**  Museum 'rogues gallery' of specimens and photos revealed for first time

Conservators brought it out of storage in 2016 and found it stuffed with
'the equivalent of 25 large refuse sacks of wheat straw, a broken chair and
scraps of The Sydney Morning Herald from January 26, 1883.

 

**  Medieval inks for heritage conservation

The materials used to write medieval manuscripts and draw upon paper were
crucial so that surviving written texts can be read, translated and
interpreted nowadays.

A new museum in Milwaukee may well hold the largest collection of
bobbleheads anyone has ever seen, displaying more than 6,500 figures of
athletes, mascots, celebrities, animals, cartoon characters, politicians and

Bletchley Park's National Museum of Computing will be exhibiting original,
freshly discovered decrypted WWII messages to coincide with the 75th
