The Nobles County Historical Society (NCHS) in Worthington, MN, is seeking to hire an Executive Director. This opening will offer a once-in-a-career opportunity to a capable candidate looking for both excitement and a professional challenge. You would be the first full-time director in the organization's history. You would also be in a position to help guide the Society's transformation: moving it from a 2,700 sq.ft. basement location into a soon-to-be rehabilitated historic Armory building with over 26,000 sq.ft. on three different floors. The possibilities are limitless, only to be held back by our lack of imagination and finite resources. To succeed in this venture, applicants would need to possess a diverse set of traditional museum skills and be capable of managing the following responsibilities: program development, fundraising, membership/volunteer recruitment, marketing, exhibit planning, collections management, strategic planning, and more. Preference will be given to individuals with professional training and/or management experience in a museum/history/non-profit field. The director will be paid an annual salary of $40,000. To apply, submit a letter of interest and resume to: NCHS, 407 12th St., Suite #2, Worthington, MN, 56187; phone, (507) 376-4431. Application deadline - March 15.
