We have had Antiques Road Show, Mysteries at the Museum and local news reporters here, with only minor issues. If you/the staff keep an eagle eye one them, be very clear what they can and cannot do, can and cannot touch, don't let them talk you into anything that you are not comfortable with and/or might compromise artifacts, or historic structures than you should be OK. Have a clear contract with them and make sure that any footage shot in your facility will only be used for the show or the promotion of American Pickers and NOT be used for any other shows the production company works on.
While I enjoy watching Pickers I do have issues when I see them buying from a "Museum" these are always private museums and not public ones but it still makes me wonder how the public perceives this. So even if they are not buying from you, will the public think they are?? Don't know the answer but that would be my one concern.

Hi everyone,

We recently heard that American Pickers will be here in California looking for unique and interesting collections to highlight on their show. My ED brought it to my attention and wondered if it was something that might be of interest to us to get our name out there to the public more. Has anyone ever worked with them or have thoughts on this? I'm not a fan of the show personally and the thought of having a tv crew here scares me after reading of some of the "horror stories" on the listserve.

Thanks,
Julie
