Winter Begins Friday; Full Moon & Ursid Meteors Peak Saturday
The season of Winter, in the NorthernHemisphere of Earth, begins at the moment of the Winter / December Solstice, Friday Afternoon. Almost 24 hours later, Saturday Afternoon will mark the peak time for the annual Ursid MeteorShower. Plus, this year the December Full Moon occurs on Saturday just after Noon in the Eastern Standard Time Zone of the Northern Hemisphere.
