Hello Stephanie,

Oakland Museum of California has a great family guide. Crocker Art museum is Sacramento also has one, or at least they have family interpretation that is fantastic. You might reach out to their education departments.

Hello all,

I am a second-year Museum Education graduate student at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. I am currently working on my thesis that focuses on the development of family guides in art museums.

I need participants in my research survey. Please participate if your institution meets the following criteria:

-       A nonprofit institution that is open to the public and functions to collect, research, and exhibit works of art.

-       Currently distributes a family guide, which may otherwise be referred to as children’s guide or gallery guide, to visitors. The definition of a family guide for this thesis is a tangible, printed booklet that offers collateral interpretation and activities for an institution’s exhibit(s) and that is intended for the use of children and family visitors.

This survey should take no more than 5-8 minutes. I need results by October 5th.

If you are willing to share your family guide or results of family guide evaluations conducted by your institution, you may attach them in the survey. If you prefer to send them by email, please send them to [log in to unmask].

Thank you in advance!
