Bronwen,

The type of flooring depended to a large degree on the date of construction, as well as to some degree on geographic location and economic circumstances.  Can you provide such details for your carriage house (other than a PA location)?

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Carriage Houses

Hello listers - I am looking for information. If you work for an historic property and have an original carriage house, can you tell me what the flooring material is? Dirt, wood, stone, brick? Our carriage house is not original, the family does not remember what the flooring material was. I have only found two original sources and would prefer to have more examples.  If you can suggest written research materials that would be great as well, as I found very limited information via the internet.  As always, I am grateful for the help!
