**New ARCS Publication – Museum Property and Old Loan Legislation**
As part of our website updates, we have added new publications in the Programs – Resources section (http://www.arcsinfo.org/programs/educational-opportunities/publications). Museum Property and Old Loan Legislation lists relevant legislation, by state, that make it easier for museums to deal with abandoned loans, found property, and objects that are found in collections without documentation. The publication also has links to further reference material dealing with this topic. And if you have any updates for the list, please send them to [log in to unmask]

**Remembering Marie Malaro**
Sadly, the museum world lost one of its pioneers this month. Marie Malaro was legal counsel for the Smithsonian Institution for many years, and later was director of the graduate program in Museum Studies at George Washington University. She was widely known for her many books and articles dealing with legal issues in museums, including of course “A Legal Primer on Managing Museum Collections”. She also provided many hours of volunteer work and pro bono legal advice to a number of museums and historical associations over the years.
