The National Sporting Library & Museum's (NSLM) John H. Daniels Fellowship program supports ongoing scholarship on the literature, art, and culture of equestrian, angling, and field sports.
Previous topics include:
- The architecture of horse stables
- History of horsemanship
- Equestrian fashion
- Equestrian poetry
- Falconry
- Veterinary science and nutrition
- Environmental conservation
- Fly fishing

Accepted Fellows will receive a monthly stipend (max. $2,000/month), complimentary housing in the Fellowship cottage, and a workstation in the Library.
Applications must be postmarked by July 15, 2018 with notification in late August for fellowship terms during the 2019 calendar year. Applications will be made by email in a single PDF attachment and must include:

- Completed application form
- Research proposal 1000 words or less, detailing how research will utilize the Library’s collections
- Detailed expense budget, up to $2,000/month
- Letter of recommendation from an advisor or colleague
- Curriculum vitae or detailed resume
