DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE
The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting in organizing and coordinating fundraising activities in order to broaden the base of financial support for the Seminole Tribe of Florida Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki
Museum. The incumbent plans, develops, coordinates and manages long-term capital campaigns, securing grants, attracting new donors and members, and conducting special fundraising events. The incumbent cultivates and nurtures successful and productive relationships
with current and potential government foundations, corporate/foundation sponsors and individual donors in order to contribute to the financial viability and overall sustainability of the Museum. This position reports to the Visitor Services and Development
Manager, and is a full time, non-exempt position.
ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS

Cultivates and nurtures successful and productive relationships with current and potential government foundations, corporate/foundation sponsors and individual donors in order to
contribute to the financial viability and overall sustainability of the Museum.

Researches and identifies suitable funding opportunities such as Endowment Fund, Annual Giving, Capital Campaign and Corporate Level Sponsorship, to enhance and expand Museum operations
for a variety of museum initiatives, such as exhibitions, education programs, community outreach, and other major projects.

Writes compelling grant proposals and bids to corporate, foundation and government funders; successfully administer grants awarded.

Plan and assists in the coordination of special fundraising events specifically to secure Museum funding.

Prepares communication strategy (in relation to fundraising), as required. Participates in the development of promotional articles and publications to raise awareness of the work
and the Museum’s goals and objectives.

Assist the Visitor Services and Development Manager in devising strategies to increase Membership and ensure the delivery of quality Member services by providing ideas and methods
for actively engaging Members through special events and interactive programs.

Monitors fundraising progress and creates quality reports for internal and external parties, when required
·
Tracks and maintains fundraising activities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree is required. Minimum three (3) years of Museum development experience, fundraising, grant-writing, and/or communications experience in museum industry is preferred. Prior experience in the implementation
of fund development activities from conception and successful execution from start to finish is required. Proven successful grant writing is required. Proven successful track record of securing sponsorships and business and/or corporate financial partnerships
is required. Incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Demonstrate strong planning and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate
proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Typically, the incumbent may sit comfortably to do the work; there will be travel, occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying of items. Driving a company vehicle may be required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
While working inside, the incumbent works in a clean, air-conditioned enclosed area. While working outside, the individual may be exposed to South Florida weather that includes extreme temperatures, humidity,
dust and rain.
