Dear Gary: I think the inclusion of major museums in ICOM as a major task to be accomplished. Not only through membership but at a pro active level where they may participate in ICOM´s projects and programmes. Now, about intitutional membership.... I would only suggest that a thorough research be carried out as to what a "larger intitution is" and the "number of employees at the member institution". I am thinking of National or Regional museums in small countries or even large museums in developing countries. I am sure you have this in mind and will come up with a good solution, but I thought I might share my thoughts with you and the rest of ICOM-L.
