2005 CECA Slovakia: Partnering in museum education - enhancing the adventure
Dear ICOM-colleagues,
From September 17-23 2005 this year's annual conference of ICOM/CECA will be
held in Slovakia.

The annual conference is not only important as meeting point for museum
educators as it offers an opportunity to focus on one particular aspect of
our work, "Partnering in museum education", it also helps the international
museum educators' community to exchange experiences and, by doing so,
improve the quality of their performance.
The theme 'Partnering in Museum education', is a very topical theme, as
every museum worker functions within a web of many partners, each with
different interests and demanding different ways of communication, and
museums' involvement in society is a necessary feature for sustainable
development.
The four sub-themes for the sessions of the conference are:
- Politicians as partners in museum education
- The audience as .....
- Sponsors as....
- Interest groups as.....
Of course there will be the traditional Market if Ideas, the special
research-sessions, where colleagues report about their latest research
programmes in museum education and exhibitions, excursions, museum visits
and socializing.
