Dear DEMHIST members and friends,

I would like to encourage you to attend the 2002 DEMHIST conference which
will be held in Amsterdam from the 14th to the 16th of October, 2002, and I
would like to thank Dr. Wim Jacobs of the Netherlands Institute for Cultural
Heritage for volunteering to host the conference.

The theme will be "The Historic House Museum as an Important Witness of
National and Local Identities."

If you are a voting member of DEMHIST, and you would like to present a
paper, or moderate a practical workshop, please send us a brief curriculum
vitae and a one-page abstract which clearly specifies how your topic relates
to the theme by 17 May 2002. The conference committee will inform everyone
of the program as soon as possible. The preliminary program then will be
available.

Please send the material via e-mail (if you put the material in an attached
file to the e-mail, please use the RTF format) to the DEMHIST address for
issues other than membership: [log in to unmask]

contact us for more information.

In closing, please note that the Acts for the DEMHIST 2000 conference which
took place in Genova with the theme, "Historic House Museums Speak to the
Public: Spectacular Exhibits vs.a Philological Interpretation of History,"

further details

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you in Amsterdam in 2002. Best
