Conference theme: Emerging Trends
24-28 October, 2015
Aram Khachaturian Museum, Yerevan, Armenia
For museum brands to remain relevant in a changing world, it is critical to consider the impact of trends. This year, the ICOM MPR conference will be held in Yerevan, Armenia from the 24-28th October 2015. The conference will focus on "Emerging trends" and their impact on museum brands. We will explore three subthemes, and will discuss the role of marketing and public relations in addressing them - the challenges and opportunities offered by the digital space, dealing with controversy and understanding and engaging new audiences. Early Bird Registration rates are available through July 15, so register now! (http://www.museumarm.am/en/registration)
Call for Papers
The Organizing Committee for ICOM-MPR is seeking expressions of interest from potential speakers on topics related to the three sub-themes. All submissions should follow the guidelines provided in this document.
Subtheme 1: Technology
Technology continues to evolve, creating new opportunities for museums to connect with audiences and to make an impact. We will explore how museums can leverage technology to build their brands.
We are looking for expressions of interest to present 15-minute papers illustrating how museum marketers are connecting with audience and making an impact using technology.
Subtheme 2: Engaging new audiences (Millennial)
As new generations enter the marketplace, they bring with them fresh ideas, perspectives and preferences. We will look at the newest generational insight and discuss the opportunities and implications on museum brands.
We are seeking presenters to share 7-minute case studies that illustrate how museum marketers are engaging with this audience, or that provide research-based insight into this important audience.
Subtheme 3: Dealing with Controversy - Many museums face controversy for a variety of reasons, including their topic, current events or special exhibitions or programs. We will explore the way controversy affects museum brands from a marketing and PR perspective.
We are looking for 15-minute papers exploring how museums face controversy from a marketing and PR perspective.
