ICDAD ANNUAL MEETING 
2017 MIAMI

Call for Papers
The 2017 Annual Meeting of ICOM/ICDAD will take place at the Wolfsonian-FIU in Miami Beach, Florida, from 29 November to 1 December. 

The theme for the conference is Art Deco, in terms of historic objects of the 1920s and 1930s, and more broadly.  Members are invited to submit papers around the following topics or other topics related to the conference theme:
*New accessions/ New research:  Art Deco objects in your museum collection
*Nationalism and Art Deco
*Regionalism and Art Deco
*Graphic Design and Art Deco
*Cross cultural influences in Art Deco Silver (or other media, e.g., glass, ceramics)
*Egyptomania and Art Deco
*The Persistence of Art Deco aesthetics in Contemporary Design Practice
*Architecture and Interiors

Power Point Presentations of 20 minutes will comprise the main sessions of the conference.  Shorter papers of 10 minutes to discuss current exhibition projects, international exchanges, or other topics unrelated to the conference theme, will comprise the Marketplace session.   
Please send an abstract of 250-300 words, including your name, title, and institution, by 1 June 2017 to:

Notification of acceptance will be sent out on 1 July 2017.  

Young curators and graduate students are encouraged to submit topics and apply for the ICDAD conference scholarship (see website for details). 
Note: If any ICDAD members require a letter of invitation for Visa purposes we will provide that.
