Dear Colleagues,

The International Council of African Museums, AFRICOM, would like to add its
voice in congratulating Mr. Robert Spickler on his appointment as Interim
Director General of ICOM. AFRICOM hopes to work closely with Mr. Spickler
and his team in the management and development of heritage not only in
Africa, but around the world.

On the same note, AFRICOM gives full support to the recommendation that Mr.
Piet Pouw be made a honorary member of ICOM. This is in recognition and
appreciatiation of the role Mr. Pouw has played in furtherance of heritage
in general, but in particular, his contribution at the ICOM secretariat as
Acting Secretary General.

Congratulations Mr. Robert Spickler and thank you Mr. Piet Pouw.
