Dear Allissandra Cummins,
This is to inform you and the Executive Committee that
at his Sessional Address to Parliament this morning,
His Excellency John Adgyekum Kuffuor, the President of
the Republic of Ghana has directed Parliament to set
up a special fund as a matter of urgency for the
victims of the disaster in Asia immediately.
We the Members of ICOM -Ghana National Committee would
like to make a request to the Presidency that quite
apart from the human life support, that some of the
funds raised be earmarked to help save and also
restore some of the damaged cultural heritage
especially those held in Museum and Archives.
In this direction, let us know as soon as ICOM's
Action Plan is in place so we can make this request
for allocation to Museums etc.
Best Regards
KWAME SARPONG
