 Dear Colleagues!

I'm following closely the debate on ICOM-L concerning an Annual General
Assembly. Rather than repeat what a number of you have already expressed
very well, I would just reinforce the point that with an annual GA we can
move forward more quickly on possible reforms that I believe we are all
looking forward to.

Also we need to remember that it is the President who sets the agenda,
invites the members and chairs the Annual General Assembly meeting.

It seems that we may be confusing the annual General Assembly and the
Advisory Committee meeting.

The chair of ICOM Mexico Silvia Singer expresses the following: "I am sorry
but I see no intervention of our Chairman of the Advisory in preparing this
and other issues with us."

Quite the contrary. Please go back to the letter I sent out in January
with the draft agenda of the
Advisory Committee meeting in June or take a look at our website! In both
cases you were
all invited to send in comments and suggestions for the agenda and to have
an open
discussion on the overall content of the coming session of the Advisory.
The Working
Group set up in Vienna meets this coming Monday and Tuesday, April 14-15,
so
please give us some concrete and specific suggestions as soon as possible!

Best wishes

Knut Wik
Chair, ICOM Advisory
