Dear Colleagues,

One of the section of the "Museology Handbook" I am
currently working on will be consacrated to the
definition of Museum and to the different
interpretations that each country, according to the
adopted definition, gives to the Museum as an
institution.

To this purpose, it would be extremely interesting and
useful for me if you could provide me with the
information concerning the definition of Museum in
Your country. And namely I refer to the definition
adopted both by the legislation of Your country and
also by museum associations in your country.

The comparison between the different definitions
will allow to clarify which countries have actually adopted, and to which extent,
the Definition of Museum stated in Art. 2 of ICOM Statutes.

I thank you very much in advance for your kind
cooperation and I send you my best regards.
