ICOM Committee activity on the Web has now become so intense that
the previous mechanisms for tracking it on the central ICOM
server are no longer adequate.

The central document repositories do not presently provide links
to all of the documents maintained on individual Committee sites.
Users should therefore keep an eye on those sites, most
especially now that notices of annual conferences are appearing
in some number.

The ICOM site at <http://www.icom.org/> provides clear links to
the Committee resources. You need, therefore, not be concerned
with maintaining separate lists of these addresses. The way in
which the links to them are indicated on the central site will,
however, be modified to accomodate the requirements of new Web
server software which is about to be installed.

At the same time, several Committees will be commencing the
operation of autonomous subdomains within the ICOM Internet
domain. The first to do so is the Swedish National Committee,
which is now located at <http://www.sweden.icom.org/>.

If there is any interest in further details of these
modifications please address your commentary to ICOM-L and I will
be happy to participate in a more extensive discussion there.
Otherwise, changes in the ICOM network services will be reported
on ICOM-L as they take effect.
