SEEKING SPEAKERS FOR ICOM-MPR 2004


 

Seoul, Korea 1 - 7 October 2004

 

In preparation of the ICOM General Conference in Seoul, The
International Committee for marketing and Public Relations (ICOM-MPR) is
seeking expressions of interest from potential speakers who have
expertise in one of the following areas:

1. Strategic Museum Marketing and Branding

            I.e. building museum brands, long term marketing planning,
pricing policies, strategies towards different target groups, the use of
visitors studies etc. 

2. Communication strategies related to Intangible Heritage

 

If you are interested in making a presentation at the ICOM-MPR Working
Sessions of the General Conference, we would be pleased to hear from you
by e-mail at your earliest convenience. You are kindly invited to submit
a written Abstract (see below) for proposed oral presentations (of not
more than 20 minutes) for assessment by the ICOM-MPR Board.

 

All Abstracts of contributions offered must be sent no later than 1 June
2004 to:

The receipt of Abstracts will be confirmed, and a decision on offers
will be made shortly after all abstracts are received. Successful
speakers will be notified in June 2004. 

 

NB: As a not-for-profit entity with extremely limited resources, it is
not possible for ICOM-MPR to pay for the travel or accommodation
expenses of its speakers. Please also note that accepted papers are not
exempt from payment of the registration fee. 

 

Instructions for writing abstracts: 

-         electronic transmission in Word (.doc) or Rich Text Format
(.rtf) is preferred and requested. If electronic transmission is
impossible please send the Abstract on a Windows format diskette.

-         abstracts must be written in English (working language of the
Conference)

-         title with capitalised first letter only

-         initials and name of the author 

-         institution of the author 

-         text of the abstract, containing 250 words maximum, structured
with subheadings: introduction, aims and conclusion

-         name, surname, address and e-mail address of the presenting
author, to whom the confirmation and further correspondence will be sent
