Hi Gabrielle,

I would recommend acquiring a copy of the book Museum Registration Methods, I think it's currently in its 6 edition. You can get it through Rowman and Littlefield or in Amazon. It will tell you the best methods to use for different kinds of artifacts and archival materials. Even though I've been in the museum field for 20 years, it's still my go to when I have questions on how to label something. The book also has information on the entire accession and registration process.

Hope this helps,
Julie
