Hello folks --

I have been asked to assist in shipping an 18th century Northwest Coast

wooden bowl or ladle that is "oozing with oil"  from a private donor in

Oregon to a Native Tribe in Alaska.  Those of you who work with

Northwest Coast Native collections will be familiar with this sort of

residue.  How would you go about packing?  The donor is not local so

they would first have to transport the piece to our museum and then we

would pack and ship.  Any thoughts or guidance you can provide would be

much appreciated (for both "legs" of the journey).

Many thanks!

-- Pam
