“We were  deeply saddened to recently learn of Prof. Maroevic’s death.

A long-time ICOM member as well as an active Board member of ICOFOM (and its
Vice chair  during 1998-2002 )  and member of ICTOP since 1995,   Prof. Ivo
Maroevic. was noted for his  research and publications on museology,  as
well as for his  very stimulating teaching at the Filozofski Fakultet in
Zagreb ( Croatia ). 
An active member of the National Committee of  former Yugoslavia since 1977,
Prof. Maroevic. was also  instrumental in the establishment of ICOM’s
Committee in Croatia in the early 90s.    
He will be missed not only by his colleagues at ICOFOM and at ICTOP but by
the entire museological community.

« C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous avons appris la récente
disparition de Monsieur le professeur Maroevic.
Depuis longtemps membre de l’ICOM, ainsi que membre actif du Bureau de
l’ICOFOM (dont il fut Vice-président de 1998 à 2002) et membre de l’ICTOP
depuis 1995, M. Ivo Maroevic s’est distingué par ses recherches et ses
publications en muséologie, ainsi que par son enseignement très apprécié à
la Faculté de philosophie de Zagreb (Croatie). 
Membre actif du Comité national de l'ex-Yougoslavie depuis 1977, M. Maroevic
a également œuvré de manière décisive à la création du Comité de l’ICOM en
Croatie au début des années 1990.
Il sera regretté non seulement par ses collègues de l'ICOFOM et de l’ICTOP,
mais par toute la communauté muséologique.

Nos hallamos profundamente apesadumbrados por la reciente noticia del
fallecimiento del Profesor Maroevic.
Afiliado al ICOM desde hace muchos años, el Profesor Ivo Maroevic fue un
miembro activo de la Mesa del ICOFOM, en el que ocupó el cargo de
Vicepresidente desde 1998 hasta 2002. Asimismo, fue miembro del ICTOP desde
1995. Era reputado por sus trabajos de investigación y publicaciones sobre
museología, así como por su dinámica labor de docente en la Filozofski
Fakultet [Facultad de Filosofía] de Zagreb (Croacia).
Miembro activo del Comité Nacional de la ex Yugoslavia desde 1977, el
Profesor Maroevic desempeñó un papel clave en la creación del Comité Croata
del ICOM a principios del decenio de 1990.
Su muerte representa una gran pérdida no sólo para sus colegas del ICOFOM y
del ICTOP, sino también para el conjunto de comunidad museológica.

En nombre del ICOM, deseo expresar mi más sentido pésame a su familia.
