ICOM, The International Council of Museums, a Paris-based NGO founded to
advance the interests of museums and the museum profession, seeks a:
Communications Assistant / Internet Content Editor (1-2 years experience )
Under the supervision of the Communications Officer and in co-ordination
with the Web site Manager, you will be in charge of content maintenance on
the ICOM Web site and the development of ICOM's electronic communications.
Tasks:
- Content maintenance in French and English
- Markup
- Posting new documents to and deleting outdated ones from the Web site
Skills:
- Experience in editing documents for Internet applications
- Ability to mark up documents in all versions of HTML, skills in
META-tagging, and basic familiarity with XML
- Good knowledge of file formats and their interconversion, and of authoring
and maintenance tools, especially Dream Weaver and Acrobat
- Experience of using Internet tools such as Telnet, FTP, plus the various
services supported by HTTP
- Interest in, and the ability to develop, XML-based applications is an
additional merit
- Fluent English and French
- Knowledge of the realm of museums
- Very good communication skills and flexible
Gross salary: 12 400 FF. 35 hour working week. Work permit and residence in
Paris necessary.
